SGM Scott Little, a native of Marshfield, Massachusetts, began his trumpet studies at the age of eight. While still in high school, he became a member of The Plymouth Philharmonic Orchestra. Little studied with Walter Chesnut at the University of Massachusetts from 1986-1988. He transferred to the University of Michigan, where he studied with Armando Ghitalla, former principal trumpet of the Boston Symphony Orchestra. While at Michigan, he was a founding member of the Avatar Brass Quintet and won a scholarship to the Empire Brass Seminar at Tanglewood. Little was a member of The U.S.Army Herald Trumpets until 2011. His duties include performing at The Tomb of The Unknown Soldier, the White House, Pentagon, the U.S. Capitol, and other venues across the country and the world. In addition, Little was principal trumpet with the McLean Orchestra from 1994-2000. In October of 2011, Little was appointed the position of Senior Drum Major for The U.S. Army Band "Pershing's Own". Little became the Ceremonial Band's Element Leader in January of 2016. Little and his wife, Amy, have three young boys that keep them quite busy.
