SGM Dave Brown is currently the baritone saxophonist for The U.S. Army Blues. Some of his musical experiences include performances with the National Symphony Orchestra, Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra, Johnny Mathis, Manhattan Transfer, Rosemary Clooney, Joe Williams, Billy Eckstine, the Mills Brothers, the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra, the Nelson Riddle Orchestra, the New Gene Krupa Orchestra, the Fifth Dimension, the Temptations, and Maureen McGovern. He has performed in 48 states and two tours of Japan as lead alto sax/clarinetist with the Glenn Miller Orchestra. He can also be heard on several outside CD’s including the Grammy Award winning children’s CD “cELLAbration”, and the Grammy nominated “Carnival” with Wynton Marsalis and the Eastman Wind Ensemble. Brown has also served as a staff musician for Royal Cruise Line and Western Cruise Line touring Africa, Central and South America, Europe, Mexico and Hawaii. He has played with numerous productions on national tours, including the “Radio City Music Hall Rockettes,” “La Cage Aux Folles,” and “Jesus Christ Superstar.” Brown has acted as a clinician for schools throughout the U.S,. and has served on the faculty at George Mason University and the Eastern U.S. Music Camp at Colgate University.
