SSG Christian Hoff graduated from the University of Maryland in 2015 with a bachelors degree in vocal performance, under the instruction of professor Gran Wilson. While at the University of Maryland, Hoff was also a choral singer and soloist with the UMD Chamber Singers, under the direction of Dr. Edward Maclary. With the Chamber Singers, Hoff was able to perform on a regular basis at the John F. Kennedy Center, in collaboration with the National Symphony Orchestra, under the baton of conductors such as Christoph Eschenbach, Matthew Halls and Helmut Rilling. These collaborations include major choral symphonic works such as Handel’s Messiah, Brahms’ Requiem and Benjamin Britten’s War Requiem. Hoff was a member of the Janiec Opera Company at the Brevard Music center where he had the pleasure of playing the role of Tobias Ragg in Stephen Sondheim’s Sweeney Todd. He also covered the role of Don Ottavio in Mozart’s Don Giovanni. Hoff played the role of Georg in the University of Maryland’s production of Spring Awakening and most recently played the lead role of Eddie Birdlace in Pasek and Paul’s Dogfight with the Red Branch Theatre Company.
