Twilight Tattoo is an hour-long military pageant featuring Soldiers from the 3rd U.S. Infantry Regiment (The Old Guard) and The U.S. Army Band “Pershing’s Own.” Experience a glimpse into American history through performances by The U.S. Army Blues; vocalists from The U.S. Army Chorus, The U.S. Army Band Downrange, and The U.S. Army Voices; The Old Guard Fife and Drum Corps; and The U.S. Army Drill Team.
The 2017 Twilight Tattoo season of performances begin May 3 and will run most Wednesdays through August 9 [NO SHOW July 5 or July 12]. Pre-ceremony pageantry and music by The U.S. Army Band “Pershing’s Own” begins at 6:30 p.m. and the tattoo starts at 7:00 p.m. Get there early to clear security and get a seat!
Performances are on Summerall Field on the Fort Myer portion of Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall in Arlington, Virginia. Venue locations may change due to inclement weather; there is a contingency plan in place. Dates and times are subject to change. Please check http://twilight.mdw.army.mil/schedule prior to attending a specific performance.
This performance is free and open to the public. Bleacher seating is on a first-come, first served basis. Pedestrians ONLY can enter Fort Myer through Henry Gate at the intersection of N. Pershing Drive and Arlington Boulevard in Arlington, Virginia. All persons 18 and older will need to provide valid photo identification to enter. Henry Gate will open at 5:30 p.m. or one hour before the pre-show start time. The gate will remain open for one hour past the conclusion of the performance to allow guests to interact with the Soldiers.
Arriving by Metro: Courthouse Station
Total walking distance from Courthouse Station to performance location is 9/10 of a mile. For those unable to walk that distance, taking a taxi service from metro to the intersection of N. Pershing Drive and Arlington Boulevard will reduce the walk to less than 1/10 of a mile, or one block.
Exit at Courthouse Metro. Walk south on the right side of N. Courthouse Road for three blocks to Arlington Blvd.
Stay to the right, walking along the bike path adjacent to Arlington Boulevard. Follow the bike bath under the overpass at 10th Street N. Follow the crosswalk and go left at the sidewalk to continue walking south along Arlington Boulevard.
The sidewalk will turn back into a bike path. Continue for one more block.
At N. Pershing Drive, cross the street to the left to enter Henry Gate.
Once on base, walk straight for one block, cross the street and enter the performance area through the checkpoint on the right.
