The United States Army’s most popular outdoor ceremonial pageant opens in the Washington D.C. area.

Each year The United States Army Band performs its big summer concert that concludes with the spirited Tchaikovsky’s “Overture 1812” on the slope of the Washington Monument Grounds—complete with the cannons of The 3rd U.S. Infantry Regiment (The Old Guard) Presidential Salute Battery.

Spirit of America is the inspiring story of Soldiers past and present, generations of men and women who, for more than 230 years, in times of war and peace, have left families and friends behind to serve their country as Soldiers in the United States Army. Spirit of America is a celebration of the history, strength and spirit of our nation.
