National Trombone Quartet Competition

The Eastern Trombone Workshop presents the National Trombone Quartet Competition. Our goal is to promote this important and popular genre for players of all ages. In addition to gaining valuable experience in preparing or a national competition, those selected will be given the opportunity to perform a full recital for the ETW audience. We encourage all who are interested to take part in this new and exciting event.

ELIGIBILITY

This competition is open to all trombone quartets. There are no age restrictions. The winning quartet will perform a solo recital.

REPERTOIRE

  1. One of the three following required pieces:

    • Anthony Plog - Trombone Quartet No. 1 “Densities”
    • Saskia Apon - First Trombone Quartet
    • Claude Debussy, arr. Levin - Trois Chansons
  2. One complete work of your choice.

Deadline for all material is December 1, 2008. The winning quartet will be notified via email shortly after all material has been received. Tape cassette or CD only containing the following information:
