Biography

Gil Corella
Recently retired from The United States Air Force Band after 25 years of service, Gil Corella continues to perform as a soloist and clinician at colleges and universities throughout the United States. He is currently the tuba-euphonium professor at George Washington University, and music director for the Loudoun Symphonic Winds. In 2005 he founded the Serapis Foundation, whose mission is to promote music education and appreciation, and he serves as the executive director. His education includes a Doctorate of Musical Arts degree from the Catholic University of America, as the school’s first-ever graduate in tuba performance. Retired Colonel Arnald D. Gabriel and Professor Anthony Maiello are amongst his most influential teachers, as well as Baltimore Symphony principal tubist David Fedderly and the former National Symphony principal trombonist Milton Stevens.
