A native of the Washington, DC area, MSG Frank Carroll has been associated with military bands for years. Between college semesters, he took the opportunity to perform in productions at Kings Dominion Amusement Park for seven years. Before becoming a member of The U.S. Army Band "Pershing's Own," he was selected to perform in two USO tours entertaining troops in Germany, the Sinai Dessert, Korea, the Philippines, Japan, Diego Garcia, Johnston Atoll, and Hawaii. He has also performed at corporate events for AT&T in Las Vegas, and worked with Gladys Knight and the Pips. As a percussionist, he toured nationally with a production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. He also performed on the cruise ship Caribe 1 out of Miami, FL, sailing weekly to Haiti, San Juan, St. Thomas, and the Dominican Republic. Upon his return to Washington, Carroll worked as a freelance drummer, performing often with members of all the area service bands. He auditioned for The U.S. Army Band "Pershing's Own" in 1991, and now performs with The U.S. Army Band Downrange. He feels he has had the opportunity to perform amongst the best musicians in the world since joining "Pershing's Own." Carroll has shared the stage with numerous artists, and had the privilege of performing for the troops in Kuwait, Iraq, and Afghanistan, this time as an active-duty Soldier. He is proudly married to Helen Roberts-Carroll and father to Christopher and Briana.
