SSG Victoria Chamberlin enlisted in the United States Army Band program as an oboist in 2013, where she was stationed with the Eighth Army Band in Seoul, South Korea, followed by the U.S. Army Europe Band in Sembach, Germany. She performed in over 10 countries on oboe and English horn in the concert band and woodwind quintet. With college marching band and drum corps experience, Chamberlin was a member of the Eighth Army and USAREUR Ceremonial Band sousaphone sections supporting missions including the 60th Anniversary of the Korean War Armistice, and the 70th Anniversary of the Invasion of Normandy. In addition to duties as a performing musician, Chamberlin worked in the public affairs office of each band, serving as unit photographer, and social media manager. Prior to enlisting, Chamberlin was Business Development Director for the National Association for Music Education and worked on a task force influencing education policy to include arts as a core subject. As NAfME business development director, she oversaw several national student honor groups including The U.S. Army All-American Marching Band, NAfME All-National Honor Ensembles, and the Tri-M Music Honor Society. Chamberlin lives in Washington, D.C., with her husband Michael Chamberlin, and cat, Ren.
