SSG Peter Soroka is a percussionist with The U.S. Army Ceremonial Band. Prior to joining “Pershing’s Own,” Soroka was a Graduate Assistant at Florida State University where he helped teach undergraduate percussion students while working on a Doctor of Music degree. He was awarded performance degrees from the University of North Texas and Virginia Commonwealth University. In 2013, he performed in Poland and Croatia as a member of the UNT graduate percussion ensemble.

Soroka has performed with the Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra as well as Sinfonia Gulf Coast in Destin, Florida. In 2014, he was an Artist in Residence at Sweet Briar College and taught private lessons at the University of Richmond.

Soroka has maintained a private lesson studio since 2008, teaching middle and high school students. He continues to be active as a performer and educator.

His primary teachers include Dr. John Parks IV, Christopher Deane, Ed Soph, Mark Ford, Paul Rennick, Dr. Peter Martin, Dr. Kristopher Keeton, and his first teacher, Isaac Edgerton.
