Biography

SSG Granner studied percussion performance and world music at Northern Illinois University (BM 2005) and University of Minnesota (MM 2007). Afterword, he taught high school percussion and athletic bands in his hometown of Evanston, IL. In 2013, he enlisted as a percussionist and soon began to provide technical sound support in addition to performing. He served at I CORPS Band, Fort Lewis, WA, Training and Doctrine Command Band, Fort Eustis, VA, and 82nd Airborne Division All-American Band, Fort Bragg, NC. Most recently, SSG Granner served as a Music Support Technician Instructor at The US Army School of Music, Little Creek, VA. In 2021, SSG Granner joined the US Army Band Technical Support Group. He lives in Northern Virginia with his wife and daughter.
