Biography

SSG Ethan Scholl joined The U.S. Army Band “Pershing’s Own” in October of 2018. He was born in Fairmont, MN, but grew up in Owatonna, MN. In the spring of 2013, he graduated from Luther College in Decorah, IA with a bachelor’s degree in music. He then moved to Champaign, Illinois to pursue a master’s degree in performance and pedagogy from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, receiving his degree in the summer of 2016. He has also studied at the University of North Texas. His primary teachers include Steve Menard (University of North Texas), Elliot Chasanov (University of Illinois) and Michael K. Smith (Luther College).
