Biography
SSG Michael Willis began his career in live sound as an audio technician at SeaWorld Orlando in 2017. Willis earned his bachelor’s degree from Bethune Cookman University in 2011 and subsequently worked with the Walt Disney Company while pursuing his master’s degree, which he earned at Full Sail University in 2012. Willis was able to further his experience, grow professionally, and take on many technical challenges while engineering sound for Monster’sUniversity Live Opening, Star Wars Weekend, Disney Channel Rocks, Mulch, Sweat & Shears, The American Idol Experience, and Magic Kingdom's Christian Music Festival Night of Joy.Before joining The U.S. Army Band “Pershing’s Own,” Willis served with The 3rd Infantry Division Band as a music production technician. While living in Georgia, Willis worked as the sound engineer for the Savannah Picnic in The Park, featuring The 3rd Infantry Division's Jazz Combo and The Savannah Philharmonic. Willis also volunteered weekly at Compassion Christian Church and New Life Church on the audio production teams.
