Biography

MSG Patrick Sobolik earned his Bachelor's of Music in Vocal Performance from the University of Northern Iowa in 1991. While there, he had the opportunity to study with renowned vocal coaches Gary Arvin and Miguel Pinto. He has also studied with renowned vocal teachers Michael Cousins, David Smally, Elizabeth Daniels, and Dr. In Dal Choi. Notably, in 1995 Sobolik was a finalist in the "Meistersinger Competition" held in Graz, Austria. Most recently, he has performed with the Washington National Opera making his debut as Sergio in "Fedora" with Mirella Freni, and Placido Domingo, as well as performing with them on their recent tour of Japan. Sobolik has completed opera apprenticeships for Central City Opera, Des Moines Metro Opera, Opera Iowa, Utah Festival Opera, and the American Institute of Musical Studies in Graz, Austria. He has been with The Unites States Army Band since 1997 and is currently the First Tenor Assistant Section Leader and Librarian for The U.S. Army Chorus.
