Biography

SSG Thomas Reynolds joined The U.S. Army Band "Pershing's Own" in 2019. Prior to his appointment to “Pershing’s Own,” he served as Co-Principal Bassoonist in the U.S. Coast Guard Band in New London, CT from 2011 to 2018. During his time in Connecticut, he was also Assistant Principal Bassoon in the Hartford Symphony Orchestra and was a regular guest with the Rhode Island Philharmonic. Since relocating to the Mid-Atlantic Region, he has performed with the Washington National Opera, the Reading Symphony Orchestra, and the York Symphony Orchestra. Reynolds is an active bassoon teacher and was the bassoon instructor at Rowan University in Glassboro, NJ, from 2017 to 2019. Reynolds holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan and a master’s degree from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. His teachers include William Short, William Winstead, Jeffrey Lyman, Richard Beene, and Robert Williams.
