Prior to joining “Pershing’s Own” in 2014, SFC Sonia C. Dell'Omo worked as an active freelancer and teacher in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex. She performed regularly with ensembles including the Las Colinas Symphony Orchestra, the Dallas Wind Symphony, the Lone Star Wind Orchestra, the newly formed Avant Chamber Ballet, as well as the Las Cruces Symphony Orchestra in Las Cruces, New Mexico. Dell'Omo's teaching studio consisted of about 50 students in some of the most accomplished band programs in the state. She also worked as a clinician for the Greater Dallas Youth Orchestra Wind Symphony, Lone Star Youth Winds, the Texas Flute Society, and several area band programs. Dell'Omo received a music education degree from New Mexico State University and a music performance degree at the University of North Texas. She served as the flute section leader in the UNT Wind Symphony and performed with the Symphony, Opera, New Music, and chamber ensembles.

SFC Gregory Hammond joined The U.S. Army Band "Pershing's Own" in November of 2015. He was born in Lancaster, PA, but grew up in Fairport, NY, where he started playing trombone at the age of 10. Hammond graduated from the Eastman School of Music with a bachelor’s degree in Music Education and Trombone Performance, including the Performers Certificate. After spending some time as a substitute music teacher in the Rochester, NY area, he moved to Houston, TX to pursue a master's degree in Trombone Performance at the Shepherd School of music at Rice University. While in Houston, Hammond worked as a teacher and freelance musician including several performances with the Houston Symphony Orchestra. He was also a member of the 2014 Disneyland All American College Band in Anaheim, CA. You can hear Hammond playing bass trombone on Colossus Big Band’s first album “Colossus”. His teachers include Allen Barnhill (Rice), Mark Kellogg and John Marcellus (Eastman School), and Larry Poole.

SFC Lisa Park received a B.A. in Psychology and was awarded the Hastings Prize in Musical Performance at Harvard University. Park performed with the Ying Quartet at Harvard and studied at the Eastman School of Music for one year. She received an M.M. from Rice University and a Performer’s Diploma from Southern Methodist University while serving as undergraduate violin instructor. Her teachers include Roman Totenberg, Emanuel Borok and Cho-Liang Lin.
She has served as concertmaster of ensembles including the Castleton Festival Orchestra under the late Lorin Maazel, National Orchestral Institute under David Robertson, Arlington Philharmonic, New Orchestra of Washington, and Rockville Bach Academy. Park has performed as featured soloist with the New England String Ensemble on the Boston Esplanade, The U.S. Army Orchestra, Harvard Bach Society Orchestra, Wellesley Symphony, and Boston Civic Symphony. Park received fellowships from the Aspen Music School, Kneisel Hall Chamber Festival, Moritzburg Academy, and was artist-in-residence at Atlantic Music Festival. As a proponent of new music, she has performed with contemporary ensembles including the 21st Century Consort at the Hirshhorn Museum.
Park was the first placing violinist in the USA International Music Competition and New England String Ensemble Competition and was recipient of the Volkswagen Prize for Best Chamber Music Performance (Moritzburg Academy). In 2016, SFC Park was one of three junior U.S. Army Soldiers from the MDW recognized for excellent service by President Barack Obama, Vice President Joe Biden and Secretary of Defense Ashton Carter. Prior to joining the U.S. Army Strings in 2015, Park served as Professor of Violin and Music Theory at Richland College in Dallas, TX. An active educator, Park has served as an adjudicator at local concerto competitions. She is a member of the Pi Kappa Lambda music honor society.

MSG Leigh Lafosse joined The U.S. Army Band "Pershing’s Own" in 2007 as a clarinet player in the Concert Band and has spent her career deeply involved in the development and implementation of the unit’s educational programming. Lafosse attended Texas Tech University for her Bachelor and Master of Music degrees, and during her time in Texas, she enjoyed opportunities playing with the Galveston Symphony, the Midland-Odessa Symphony, the Abilene Philharmonic, the Big Spring Symphony, and the Lubbock Symphony Orchestra. She was the recipient of a Chancellor’s Fellowship from Indiana University where she served as an Associate Instructor and received her Doctorate of Music. Lafosse was the recipient of the USO’s 2018 C. Haskell Small Award for Volunteerism and has been active in multiple education centric non-profits throughout Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia. In 2019, MSG Lafosse was selected to serve as the first Subject Matter Expert in the Ceremonial and Outreach Directorate at the Military District of Washington’s Headquarters on Ft. Leslie McNair. She was inducted as an honorary member of the Psychological Warfare Regiment at Fort Bragg in November 2021 after her lyrics were chosen as the new PSYOP Regimental March, and in 2022 was selected for induction into The Sergeant Audie Murphy Club where she currently serves on the council as volunteer coordinator.
