On Sunday, May 20, The U.S. Army Herald Trumpets, The U.S. Army Band Downrange, our Special Bugler and Special Drummer recently traveled to Chicago in support of the Northern Atlantic Treaty Organization's (NATO) Summit meeting. Heads-of-State from 29 member Nations led their delegations to this internationally significant event.

The Herald Trumpets welcomed each nation's leader with an arrival fanfare, while The U.S. Army Band Downrange performed intimate acoustic shows for our international allies at several receptions led by the Secretary of State Hilary Clinton, Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta, as well as the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, GEN Martin Dempsey. Our Special Drummer, SGM Miles Overton, and Special Bugler, MSG Allyn Van Patten, played an integral role in support of a memorial ceremony during the NATO Opening Session, which paid tribute to honor all military personnel who have fallen in support of NATO led missions.

The White House has made footage from the NATO Summit Meeting available on YouTube. Click here to watch MSG Van Patten and SGM Overton performing at the ceremony.
