Army Brass Quintet Impacts Training at Army School of Music

Next week the ASOM staff and students of class 12-004 (AIT) will get to enjoy some of the best performance oriented training they will ever participate in with a focus on Brass. As the horn instructor I eagerly look forward to the next "Pershing's Own" training session and performance for us. The "Pershing's Own" Brass Quintet first came in to support the new AIT course on 1-2 November, 2011 and then again 19 April, 2012. TUSAB Celebrates One of Its Own at Retirement Ceremony of SGM Woodrow English

On Thursday, August 19, The U.S. Army Band "Pershing's Own" marked the end of an era with the retirement ceremony of SGM Woodrow "Woody" English, the Army Band's Senior Trumpet Soloist and Special Bugler, after 34 years of distinguished service.

Approximately 300 friends, family, and colleagues attended the ceremony held at Brucker Hall, headquarters of The U.S. Army Band on historic Ft. Myer, Virginia. An octet of musicians provided pre-ceremony entertainment, and included current and former members of The U.S. Army Brass Quintet.

Brass Quintet -- Russia

Under the auspices of the Bilateral Presidential Commission and with additional financial support from ConocoPhillips Russia Inc. and the Trust for Mutual Understanding of New York, The U.S. Army Band Brass Quintet, an element of The U.S. Army Band "Pershing's Own" from Ft.
