The United States Army Band “Pershing’s Own” announces a vacancy for HUMAN RESOURCES NCO.
This position is open to Active-Duty, Reserve, and National Guard military personnel.
As the unit's Human Resources NCO, candidate must be able to provide administrative support to the command staff and Soldiers in handling personnel-related issues. Will serve as a liaison between TUSAB, Military Personnel Division (MPD), and DFAS. Will be responsible for oversight of all personnel and financial actions flowing through the unit. Serve as the primary contact for arriving Soldiers and assisting Soldiers who are transitioning from the unit (retirement, PCS or separating from service). Ensure the timeliness, flow, and quality of NCOERs, OERs, promotion requests, awards, command correspondence, personnel accountability, separations and discharges, UCMJ, MOS related actions and other requests. Qualifications
Candidates must have working knowledge of the following systems ePROFILE, MEDPROS, EDAS, EES, iPERMS, Smart Voucher and IPPS-A. Must have a high degree of computer literacy with an in-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Have knowledge of Department of the Army/Defense regulations, policies and procedures pertaining to personnel actions and be able to interpret, understand and provide resolution or guidance as applicable. Individual must possess in-depth knowledge of and skill in applying military personnel rules, procedures, and operations sufficient to perform a full range of support activities.
Interested applicants must be able to determine personnel requirements, prepare and monitor requests for personnel actions, identify and troubleshoot finance and personnel problems and discrepancies. Candidate should be capable of working independently, with the ability to resolve problems and conduct needed steps to complete tasks within established practices and procedures. Candidate will also handle Civilian personnel-related issues. Previous Civilian personnel management knowledge is not required. Training will be provided. Soldier will also perform other administrative duties as assigned.
- Candidate must have a Secret security clearance, have 3 or more years prior to ETS, or willing to reenlist.
- Members of The U.S. Army Band are reclassed to MOS of 42S “Special Band Musician.”
- Permanent Duty Assignment to Fort Myer, VA, located near the heart of Washington DC

The annual starting salary for Staff Sergeant equates to $73,000 without dependents and $78,000 with dependents

Military Rank
Members of “Pershing’s Own” are given the Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) of 42S (forty two sierra), “Special Band Musician”. Personnel are promoted to the rank of Staff Sergeant (E-6) two months after completion of Basic Combat Training.
