The United States Army Band “Pershing’s Own” announces a vacancy for TENOR VOCALIST with the U.S. Army Voices.
The U.S. Army Voices provide musical support to the nation’s leadership and entertain a wide variety of audiences with the full breadth of classical and popular music, from the intimate setting of a State Dinner, to the floor show of international military tattoos, and the grand stage of major concert halls around the world.
Selected for their musical versatility and showmanship, this well-blended group is the frontline vocal ensemble of the Concert Band and other large ensembles of Pershing’s Own. They frequently collaborate with a piano accompanist to present a variety of styles, from the most sublime classical vocal works to the most exciting Top 40 hits, as well as the most cherished melodies of Broadway and the Great American Songbook. Adept as soloists and ensemble performers, they constantly adapt their sound in all possible vocal combinations to fit the occasion. They can replicate the timeless sound of The Andrews Sisters and the fresh dissonance of Pentatonix one night, then reverently perform “The Star Spangled Banner” and other traditional patriotic show pieces the next.
Military benefits include medical and dental care; 30-days paid vacation each year; permanent assignment to Fort Myer, and educational benefits such as military Tuition Assistance and the Forever G.I. Bill.
Annual starting salary for Staff Sergeant is $64,412 without dependents; $67,472 with dependents.
